The foundation honours outstanding work in the field of ophthalmic surgery that deals with the mechanisms and procedures, their instrumentation, their results, effects and impact on the anatomy and physiology of the visual organ. Works by Swiss authors who have carried them out in Switzerland or abroad are eligible, as are scientific studies carried out in Switzerland, regardless of the candidate's nationality. The prize is endowed with CHF 25,000 and can be awarded to an individual or a research group, or to two winners in equal shares. The prize money is to be used by the award winner for further research work in the field of ophthalmic surgery.
The same work cannot be submitted a second time.
Applications must be submitted in English by 16 March 2025 at the latest using the online form. If it is a group project, please list the individual employees and their respective contribution in the form.
Applications for the scholarship will be evaluated by the Alfred Vogt Foundation's Board of Trustees in the same way as applications for the Alfred Vogt-Prize. There is no legal recourse against the decision of the Board of Trustees.
